About Kate Hanson

In my work with my clients, I’ve discovered that perfectionism in therapy is an all-too-common theme. Patients look to their therapist for prescriptive guidance on how to feel better, striving to follow specific instructions and fulfill the therapist’s expectations. In my practice, I encourage my clients to move at their own pace.

Making big changes can be hard, whether it’s confronting a lifelong struggle with OCD symptoms or changing your relationship with diet culture to help break the cycle for the next generation. We’re often highly motivated to change, but just as often are afraid of the unknown that change might bring.

I don’t want to define your journey for you; rather, I want to collaborate with you on a path toward a better life that feels right for you.
